The clash went down to the wire with the Cavaliers hoping to upset the Colts’ winning run.
The Colts won the toss and chose to bat.
Openers Ritesh Shekhawat, 74 off 73 balls, and Tom Chard, 37 off 42 balls, got the Colts off to a great start.
Braiden Wilkins made the breakthrough for the Cavaliers, removing Chard Prior to drinks with the score on 76.
Colts went into the drinks break at 1-115.
The Cavaliers bowlers put the brakes on the Colts scoring after drinks, bowling the colts out for 168.
Reitesh Shekhawat 74, Tom Chard 37, Nathan Purvis 26 were the best with the bat for Colts.
Riki Mastro took 3-34 and Greg Wilkins 1-4.
The Cavaliers run chase got off to a rocky start with Matthew Wharton dismissed on the fourth ball of the innings for a duck.
Cavaliers’ batsman Greg Wilkins stood out for his side with 79 not out off 77 balls while teammate earned Darren Pithers 40 off 28 balls pushed the Cavaliers to an unlikely victory over the minor premiers with one over to spare.
Final score Cavaliers 5-169 defeated Colts 168.
In the other match, Kings failed to name a team to travel to Emmaville with the result being a forfeit.
Next week will see the semi finals with Colts taking on Cavaliers at King George Oval and Emmaville to take on Kings at Lynch Oval.
