“I went to the White Rock Open Day a few months ago to see the wind farm up close and personal, but decided to come back and asked for permission to take some drone footage,” said Mr Norrie, whose Youtube video is full of drone footage from various locations.
“This video focuses on White Rock at Glen Innes and the Sapphire Wind Farm in Inverell in the middle as White Rock got 70 turbines complete and Sapphire only got 22 out 75 done,” said Mr Norrie. “You see the blade from Sapphire, 61.7 metres long, passing through Glen Innes.”
“There were two blades being transported on the day I visited, last Wednesday, and seeing the maneuvers from above gives another perspective of all the work required to transport the blade,” said Mr Norrie.
Mr Norrie was always fascinated in getting a bird’s-eye view of the world and has relied on drones since a hang-gliding accident a few years ago.
