The Magpies entered the Tingha encounter brimming with confidence after landing two dominant wins on the trot – a 66-nil thrashing of Armidale and a comfortable 40-18 victory against Inverell – and continued where they left off.
The visiting side flew out to a 26-nil lead in the opening 40 minutes and kept the momentum going in the second-half.
The Tigers scored two tries in the second stanza but Glen were too dominant, taking the game 46-12.
“We didn't start off flash, it was a bit of a scrappy contest, but once we wore them down a bit it started to open up,” Magpies’ captain-coach Nick Say said.
“Then we started to play a bit of football which was nice.
“They scored a couple of tries but they were both off kicks, there isn't much you can do about them but our defence was pleasing which was great.

“They didn't go through us, I don't even think they made a line-break all game so that was a pleasing sign.”
Magpies junior Luke Howard made the step up to A grade against Tingha.
“Luke Howard, he stood up and played on the wing for us on the weekend,” Say said.
“He didn't look out of place, he scored a try.
“A pleasing sign really to see a junior step up and work hard.”
The Magpies’ defence will have to be up to scratch again this Saturday when they head to Moree to take on ladder leaders, the Boomerangs.
With the ‘Rangs known for their attacking prowess, Say is expecting a tough outing.
“They give it to you out there. It will be good to go out there and put on a strong showing and show these teams that we are one of the top sides this year which will be good,” he said.
“Every year they are one of the top teams so if you can go out there and compete against those sides it gives everyone a bit of a confidence booster really.
“If you can limit their points, it can keep you in the contest for most of the game.”
