Glen Innes' new Harry Potter club holds first trivia night

A Harry Potter trivia night on Saturday was a magical event for wizards and Muggles alike.

Following on from the great success of the Harry Potterish Festival in April, some members of the Caledonian Society and their friends formed a Harry Potter Club (The Glen Innes Potterheads) with the intention of offering future events.

Their first was a trivia night on Saturday evening which saw Crofter's Cottage transformed into The Three Broomsticks Inn.

Chef Colleen served a traditional English Roast Dinner, and will be sorely missed by the Society upon her re-location to Armidale.

Quiz Mistress Amanda Dunn presented a great quiz, with only one point separating the winning teams.

Winners received replica Harry Potter wands, and raffle prizes included Harry Potter games - Cluedo, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary provided by Carelles – and replica wands and goblets provided by Knick Knackery.

Plans are afoot for a Hogwarts murder mystery dinner later in the year.

$300 was raised for local charities.
