He said: “A huge shout out and thank you to all our men and women in yellow who are doing a terrific job, working away during the weekend on these fires to keep them under control and eventually extinguish them”.
The RFS and the town brigade were working full time over several days to bring a large bushfire near Pinkett under control as well as dealing with numerous other incidents.
The town brigade also attended fires at Casino and Coraki.
Mr Marshall said: “The fire season has begun much earlier this year.”
He said it was “wonderful to see how the new technology on the control centre is helping staff co-ordinate the firefighting efforts across our vast area.”
