Kids from Glen Innes, Tenterfield and Guyra flocked to the event which was crowded for much of the day.
There were stalls by potential employers but also stalls with interesting activity, none less so than a police offering of goggles which simulate being drunk.
There were sessions of mental health and how to make a cartoon type film (an animation).
The event was organised by Dana Bowman, the council’s outgoing youth officer. Genevieve Elliott, the incoming youth worker was also there.
She described her role as to be a “safe person”, someone kids and teenagers could talk to outside their relationships with their family or school.
