Glen Innes Red Cross vice president Olga Dawes did the honours, dipping into the barrel kindly lent for the occasion by the Glen Innes and District Services Club. The barrel was around a quarter full of entries.
Mrs Dawes was asked pull out 10 dockets, each of which earns its shopper a $250 Spend in Glen EFTPOS card. Shoppers at The Premier Store appear to be particularly lucky, accounting for half the winnings.
Drawn out were...
- Belin Alt (shopping at NRMA)
- Eve Chappell (Carelles)
- Dulcie Nay (The Premier Store)
- Kerry Kilner (The Premier Store)
- Leonie Fletcher (The Premier Store)
(at which stage the barrel was give a good stir and Mrs Dawes advised to search for dockets that felt different)
- Patsie Newsome (Woolworths)
- Jennifer Cooke (The Highlands Store - Glen Innes Visitor Centre)
- Heather Todd & Eileen Husband (The Premier Store)
- R J Eimer (NRMA)
- Nola Mortlock (The Premier Store)
The winners will have to hold their fire before hitting the shops, due to a delay in the delivery of the EFTPOS cards but they’re not far away.
The next draw, for another 10 $250 cards, with be on Saturday, December 8 at 11am, again in Town Square. Those random Spend in Glen cards, however, can drop at any time.
Spend In Glen Innes Highlands coordinator Moira Munro said six random $50 cards have been distributed, and they all went to those actively supporting local businesses.
Mrs Munro said the first draw as part of Christmas in the Highlands turned out be a beautiful evening, with mild weather and lots happening to encourage people to hang around and mingle, just the purpose for a Town Square.
