Taking on West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook for the first game on Wednesday, Heagney opened the batting alongside Olly Schmude.
Schmude departed on 15 and Johnson came to the crease.
Heagney and his skipper combined for a 101-run partnership before Heagney with his 71 runs.
Simpson stepped up and got to work early with a four and a six.
The Johnson-Simpson partnership lasted for 115 runs before the captain left on 68.
Simpson was caught on 87 shortly after.
Mitch Duddy then departed to round out Armidale’s 50 overs at 5-283.
West Pennant Hills-Cherrybrook were unable to chase down the total, Armidale taking the win by 134 runs.
