Playing in the North West/New England pool, Holy Trinity put up a solid fight against the travelling side.
Charlotte McInnes and Indira Barratt managed to score two goals for Holy Trinity.
The final score was 2-1 to the home side.
Meanwhile, Inverell High School travelled to Tenterfield on the same day hoping to bag a win to move on to round two.
Unfortunately, after a close game resulting in a penalty shoot-out, it was Tenterfield who won 4-3.
Macintyre are set to take on Calrossy Anglican in round one, however a date has not been identified on the website.
Around 850 school teams from NSW, QLD, ACT and Victoria participate each year in the Bill Turner Cup (open) and Trophy (girls).
The knock-out style format encourages all players, aged 15 and under, to participate in fitness, fun and fair play.
Bill Turner Cup is in its 41st year, while the trophy is in its 29th.
Holy Trinity boys will host Glen Innes on on Monday for round one of Bill Turner Cup.
