In a nail-biting finish, the match finished in a tie and went into a thrilling super over.
Batting first, the Colts' Ritesh Shakhawat and Matt Campion got things going for their side before Campion was caught on 22 off the bowling of Kings' Nick Levy.
Shakhawat reached 36 before being run out by Luke Mepham.
Tom Benton was then caught on seven off Dale Tilbrook's bowling.
The defending premiers continued to post runs at a steady rate with skipper Nathan Purvis and Tom Chard combining.
Kings' bowler Harry Cooke claimed his first wicket when Purvis was caught on 34.
Jake Baker was the final wicket to fall for Colts, on nine, to finish their 30 overs at 5-161 with Chard on 38 not out.
Joel Jackson and Nick Levy began the Kings' run chase.
Campion landed the first blow for the Colts when Jackson was caught on five.
Nick Levy blasted the ball around the park while wickets fell around him, Campion picking up another and Purvis doing damage with three middle-order wickets.
Brandon Levy stepped up to join Nick at the crease.
Nick's innings finished on 57, Brandon's on 38 and by the time the Kings' 30 overs were up, they had reached 161 runs. Purvis and Bradyn Campion snaring wickets late in the innings.
The match entered into a super over to find the winner.
Kings batsmen Jackson and Nick Levy were put forward to face Colts' Matt Campion.
The duo reached 12 and the Colts needed 13 to secure the win.
Shakhawat and Chard took on Tilbrook.
On the final ball of the match, the Colts needed two runs.
A dropped catch saw them reach the target and defend their premiership.
Glen Innes district cricket association president Nigel Sharman umpired and said it was a thriller.
"It is the first ever draw-super over that I have seen in a grand final cricket game in my lifetime of playing senior cricket," he said.
"Both teams played an exceptional game of cricket with the game going either way but it was good to see the game come down to a super over to decide the winners."
