This trip will see the 17 NIAS athletes travel together and compete alongside each other at the Bathurst AMT/JT tournament.
For what is predominantly an individual sport, this is a fantastic opportunity for the young athletes to get a taste of what a "team" environment is like.
The team building component of the NIAS program began with a intensive team training camp, and will include the three compulsory tournaments and culminate in a development weekend in Sydney.
Inland Technology tennis program coach Jarrod Campbell says all these athletes are used to touring and cover large distances to play in tournaments, however they're often travelling with their parents and the NIAS tour can offer them a very different experience.
"They get full coaching for the weekend, rather than just training sessions," Campbell said.
"They have us on the sideline to watch them play, offer insight into game prep, how they handle stages of the game and it helps us understand how they react in certain game situations, rather than just coaching them in training sessions.
"We get a far more in-depth view into how they play and they get a lot more out of having a qualified coach on the sideline."
"The kids that stay in our NIAS program for a number of years develop into not just great tennis athletes but good human beings as well.
"NIAS makes it clear from the start that their job is to provide opportunities for development and that includes development as young men and women"
This is well reflected in the quality of athletes that are coming through the NIAS program.
Last year's NIAS Male Athlete of the Year was awarded to Gunnedah tennis star Cooper Wilkinson who recently secured a podium finish at the Australian National Clay Court Championships.
There is also plenty of talent in the current crop of athletes.
Vitoria Sardinha securing the U14 singles and doubles titles at the "Your Local Club" Academy Games held in Newcastle.
