The opening rounds saw Glen Innes finish second and at the finals in Tamworth on May 12, they faced a dominant Quirindi team and were beaten but still managed the runners-up trophy.
Coach Julie Fuller was proud of the way the team banded together.
"It was a massive effort as we had a brand new team with six new players and a major injury. And we still managed to get into the final," she said.
"Emily Burton came back from CHS injured so I didn't have her as goal-keeper or goal defence so I was really under the pump up that end but Ruby Beatty played amazing.
"She played so well, she is a centre court player but she stepped into the role of goal defence.
"We matched it with Quirindi in the first game, we did get beaten, and then we played Tamworth in the second game and we defeated them by seven."
In another impressive feat, Liz Chard was named the top player of division one.
"The umpires vote after every game and that was the whole of div one," Fuller said.
"She was voted the Most Valuable Player for div one which is huge.
"She played really well and really consistent.
"On the whole they did really well together, I was very happy with them."
Their top two finish in the Northern Inland Regional League competition ensures Glen Innes will feature in the state finals later in the year.
For the time being, the division one team and the under-17 team, who played in division two, will turn their attention to the Senior State Titles to be held in South West Sydney next month.
