The Magpies fronted up to Mead Park and dominated.
They finished with a 58-6 win with their ball control impressing coach Gavin Peterson.
"They played really well," he said.
"Armidale to start the game were a bit under-strength but as you know, you still have to play well to win regardless of how many on the field.
We have been talking about our ball control and being a bit more patient and they did that yesterday [Sunday].
"I was quite happy with their performance.
"Defence was still pretty solid and they were a lot more patient with the football and it was great."

Tempers nearly boiled over during the match and Peterson was impressed with his side's ability to re-focus on the job at hand.
"With 18-year-old blokes, they don't need much of an excuse to have a fight and I thought they restrained themselves quite well," he said.
"We spoke about not engaging in that sort of stuff and rather then getting involved with the fighting, play good hard football, score tries and tackle hard.
"That gets to them more than getting involved with that sort of stuff.
"That is more gratifying, beating them like that on the scoreboard."
The Magpies have the bye this weekend, followed by a general bye on the June long weekend.
They will next hit the park against the Boars in Moree.
The Boars are undefeated so far this season.
"The message yesterday was it is still important to get to training and start working on a few more things before that game because that is one we want to get back on them," Peterson said.
"Just try to keep them interested and keep them focused on the next game and take the opportunity to freshen up a bit but also work on a few combinations with our attack.
"We haven't managed to spend much time getting any structure with our attack so we will keep working on that for the next couple of weeks."
