The resident, who lives on Victoria street, was alerted around Sunday midnight when his dog started barking, and was shocked to see two of his cars had been allegedly set alight by unknown intruders.
He was able to put out the fires with a bucket.
Glen Innes police were called and are investigating the alleged incident.
Police also booked two people in Glen Innes for alleged driving offences. One was detected driving unregistered, uninsured without a licence at 1.30am in the morning, police say.
The other, a 25 year old male, was stopped on Grey Street on Saturday at 12.20am.
He blew positive for low-range drink driving, police say, and was also charged with driving without a licence.
