A considerably young team made the trip to Sydney's south west to turn out in the competitive open's division.
They finished eighth from the 23 teams entered.
Coach Julie Fuller was happy with the effort across the board.
"Eighth is okay, it is a real brand new team, they are young so they did really well," she said.
"The average age of the team would be 18.
"The two oldest are 22, the youngest are 16, so they did really, really well.
"They never backed off, they tried the whole time."
It was a big step up for a lot of the players and Fuller said they learned a lot at the competition.
"This year the competition was harder, a bit more physical, we had a couple of rugby union matches," she said.
"These older ones made more physical decisions.
"We didn't get too many floggings.
"We will be stronger next year and wiser, they learned a lot of things."
Results didn't favour the 17 and under Glen Innes team but they also grew throughout the course of the carnival.
Fuller said they were younger than a lot of their opponents with only one 17-year-old in the team but they will be better for the run.
"They tried for the whole time, they never gave up," she said.
"They didn't get flogged, their biggest deficit was five, they lost a lot of games by one and two and that is just poor decision making at the last minute; just holding it together.
"That will come with and will come with age, more game play."
