In first division, the visitors found the back of the net early with Mick Maroney scoring a great individual goal.
TAS hit back before Highlanders' Dango Ferris put his side back in front.
It was short-lived with TAS levelling the scores next.
Ferris slotted his second before TAS found room through the middle of the field and capitalised.
Half-time saw both teams equal at 3-all.
The Highlanders identified where they were letting TAS through and came out a different team in the second-half.
The effect was immediate with the Highlanders muscling up in defence.
Maroney and Ferris both scored another goal while keeping the students scoreless in the second stanza for the Glen Innes team to win 5-3.
Midfielder Luke Wilson was players' player while Brock Webster was very strong in the backs.
In the second division match, the Highlander scored another win.
Anthony Joyce managed a brace while Dan Leabeater and Sam Miller scored one goal each in the 4-2 victory.
Belle Smith was strong in the midfield for the Highlanders and Luke Mepham was at his best on the field and also played well in first division when subbed on.
Both first and second division are shaping up to be title contenders this year if current form stays.
Highlanders will play top-of-the-table team Inverell this Saturday in Inverell in both grades.
