International dance-pop group Justice Crew are booked to perform at the housewarming of the new facility, slated for July 10.
Justice Crew came to fame in the 2009 season of Australia's got Talent and are conveniently in town on their tenth national tour. It's unclear what time the official opening will be.
Mayor Carol Sparks was one of the strongest advocates for opening the $300,000 centre, after a spate of suicides and self harm incidents among young people in 2018.
The centre was finally approved and funded after a full year of debate at a Glen Innes Severn council meeting in February.
Cr Sparks believes the new facility should not just be for 'troubled' young people, but for every young person.
"The opening of the new Youth Centre is a milestone event in Glen Innes, which shows Council's commitment to our local young people," she said.
The centre still has several hurdles to tackle. The council is onto its fourth youth officer since 2018, with Emma Davy resigning from the position recently for financial reasons.
But the Youth Centre will heavily rely on volunteers - it cannot stay open without them. At last month's council meeting council Director of Corporate and Community Services Anna Watt said they had not yet had enough sign ups. Council is now appealing for more volunteers.
The former occupants of 152 Wentworth Street have found a new home in the Glen Innes Examiner building on Bourke Street, but will have to raise many thousands of dollars to meet the increased rent at their new home.
Before that the Wentworth Street building was the offices of Northern Community Care.
