Northern NSW Football, which is the governing body for soccer from Newcastle through to the Queensland border, announced the Glen Innes association as the winner of their club of the month award for August.
NNSWF senior officer for community football Ross Hicks said GIDFA was recognised for the valuable contributions the club has made in advancing and creating the best possible experience for their players and members.
"We applaud the efforts of Glen Innes District Football Association, coaches and players which demonstrate that community is integral to the club's ethos," Hicks said.
"Glen Innes District Football Association has made a significant and valuable contribution to the local community by implementing strategies to enhance and encourage the football experience across all of their players from youth to senior.
"With offering extra training sessions and activities for their members, the club has been growing especially within their girl's competitions."
The association will receive a $250 First Touch Football Supplies gift voucher thanks to Newcastle Permanent to purchase new equipment to continue its efforts in growing the game in the region.
