Glen Innes residents will have easier access to government services on Thursday September 19 when the 20 tonne Golden Wattle mobile services truck comes to town.

Parked alongside it on Grey Street outside the Glen Innes Service Club will be the Drought Communities One-Stop-Shop bus to help you identify and access relevant services.
There will be a business breakfast from 7.30am until 9.00am and a free sausage sizzle between 10am and 2pm.
The government services are touring New England in the coming few weeks as part of free community outreach sessions for rural and remote areas of the electorate.
In a media release to promote the tour Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, said the services are open to everyone and will provide a one-stop-shop information service to the local community.

"Australia is a big country and we love it because of that fact but the tyranny of distance means people living in rural communities can be isolated from the services they need and deserve," Mr Joyce said.
"That's why we are delivering the services to them with a number of government providers travelling the length of the New England to provide face-to-face meetings and information for local residents."
The outreach sessions are being held at 10 locations in the region including Tenterfield, Walcha, Barraba, Bingara, Manilla, Warialda, Inverell, Uralla, Guyra and Glen Innes.
Assistance will be available from government representatives including the Department of Human Services mobile centre, Australian Taxation Office, nbn local, NSW Department of Primary Industries, Rural Financial Counsellors, Rural Resilience Program, Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health, Local Land Services, NSW Farmers, The Salvation Army, Rotary, Friendly Faces, SafeWork NSW and TAFE NSW.
Outreach sessions will also be available to provide information from health providers, contact with local charities distributing drought relief, telecommunications support and advice on drought recovery.
The outreach roadshow complements visits by the Golden Wattle mobile services truck which is providing assistance with Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services in parts of the electorate.
The business breakfast is hosted by nbn local. The session will provide information on the new nbn business solution finder, how to make sure you are on a business plan that is suitable for your needs, nbn business grade product information, tips to ensure businesses are getting the most out of their nbn internet connection, scam awareness, the new Sky Muster Plus satellite service, the ICT Channel Program and general advice about the network.
