Organised by Glen Innes based organisation Arts North West, the arts connection open weekend to be held from 31 October to 4 November is set to get tourists checking out what our region has to offer.
Communications officer Steph McIntosh said the timing is perfect, with the state's mega regional arts conference Artstate to be held in Tamworth and the rural women's gathering in Walcha at the same time.
"It is the perfect opportunity for visitors to our region to take some time to explore some of our hidden gems," she said.
The directory will put the region's arts institutions on the map, featuring everything from large scale commercial galleries to volunteer run museums in towns both large and small.
Arts North West Executive Director Caroline Downer said it will be a first for the region.
"This Arts Trail will reveal what we locals have known all along: there is something special about this place," she said.
"So, pack an overnight bag, set your own pace and meander through the picturesque and changing landscapes of our region. Enjoy!"
Stephanie McIntosh said the publication will continue to be used as a reference tool even after the end of the weekend.
