After attracting around 90 people to last year's event to raise money for Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Movember, this year's golf day was set down to help Glen Innes firefighters raise money for their annual Firies Climb for Motor Neurone Disease.
Old Boys' president Gavin Peterson was rapt with the turn out once again.
We committed to $1500 to the firies motor neurone climb they are doing on the day and we are just waiting for figures to come in but we are going to commit to some of the other local charities as well on top of that.

"We ended up with 86 golfers which was what we were hoping for," he said.
"I think everybody that was there had a good time."
The aim was to raise money and, although the final figures haven't been calculated, the Old Boys managed to do that.
"We committed to $1500 to the firies motor neurone climb they are doing on the day and we are just waiting for figures to come in but we are going to commit to some of the other local charities as well on top of that," Peterson said.
The Firies Climb is an annual event which sees firefighters converge in Sydney to climb the 1504 stairs at Centrepoint tower to raise awareness for the incurable motor neurone disease.
Peterson was appreciative towards the community who got behind the event.
"A big thank you to the golf club for all their helpers on the day," he said.
"Also our sponsors who donated prizes as well."
The Glen Innes Magpies Old Boys has been around for two years and is receiving more and more support.
The objectives of the group was to get together to support charities and other organisations around town and, so far, they have been successful in doing that.
"I think we are maintaining around 90 members in the club but the interest is generating all the time," Peterson said.
"We are not sure on the figures but we have been able to redistribute funds back into the community of $9000. We are assessing where else we are distributing funds."
In terms of future events, the Old Boys will have more plans but their next fundraising effort is set to be at the Glen Innes Cup day.
"The Old Boys will put together a marquee for a social outing which will once again be welcome to anybody," Peterson said.
"Just in discussions with the racing club at the moment but that is the only focus at this stage."
