Glen Innes assistant principal Deb Stapleton has invited the town to take part in the NSW Variety Postie Dash, which is set to hold a community breakfast at the public school on Thursday morning.
Deb, who has herself taken part in the Dash to raise money for children's charity Variety, drove a postie bike hundreds of kilometres over the weekend.
She said, after five years of charity fundraising, it's the community atmosphere that keeps her coming back to Variety events.
"We call it our Variety family," she said.
"The people are all from different walks of life but everybody is in it for the same cause.
"When we get to go to these schools and see families presented with what we do it just makes it so worthwhile, it's amazing."
A six-person Glen Innes team did a short form version of the trip and stopped in Emmaville on Sunday. But 62 bikes carrying 94 people including officials will halt for the day in Glen Innes Wednesday evening before the Thursday morning community breakfast.
They will later continue on to Armidale that night, after a six day trip that will take them off the beaten track through Tenterfield, Lismore and Casino. They left Tamworth on Saturday, and will finish there on Friday.
Deb Stapleton encouraged members of the community to come along between 7 and 9am on Thursday.
Two students will receive scholarships at a ceremony, one for performing arts and the other for sport. Another kid will receive a special needs car seat and walker.
Ms Stapleton said it was particularly touching to see the people who benefit from her team's charitable efforts.
Variety helps children and their families with much-needed financial support for things like specialist equipment, therapy, and medical supplies, when they can't afford it, and when government assistance isn't available.
The Variety bashes started in 1985 with a trip from Bourke NSW to Bourketown Queensland.
