"Even a freezer came in the other day!" said Red Cross volunteer Jenny Sloman.

The charity volunteers at the Red Cross and Salvation Army have worked alongside employed workers at FACS and Disaster Relief to feed, house and register dozens of evacuees from Wytaliba, Emmaville and Deepwater. The work started Friday and it continued yesterday.

The community response has been just as astonishing.

"The generosity has been amazing," said Jenny Sloman.

"People have come through the door one after the other over the weekend, in the early days, straight after the Wytaliba disaster, offering to help,

"They'd stand at the door saying what can we do?

"It's also extremely heartwarming that we have here a very generous community and they're desperate to help."

But the centre does not need more things. What fire-affected communities will need is money to help rebuild.

Local residents inclined to donate money have two options for making sure the money stays in the Glen Innes area:

The first option is the Glen Innes Community Centre Disaster Relief Fund fund. It's at the Regional Australia Bank with money to go to BSB 932 000, account number 100 441 447 and subject line "disaster recovery account".

The money will go to people who have lost their homes to the fire or have been displaced by it, and will be administrated by the Glen Innes Community Centre.

Another fund will help the Wytaliba community, which lost over 60 houses in the Friday fires.

You can donate to the Westpac Fire Relief Donations fund at BSB 932 000 and account 1000 55893 with name Chamba Na Nmumga pty ltd. The account will be administered by the directors of the company that administrates the community.

The money will be first spent on the basics like repairing houses, pumps, water tanks and RFS facilities.

Another option is a Go Fund me organised by Cerene Lowe. It has already raised some $32,563 from 423 donors at time of printing.

Another Go Fund me has raised $4,490 for the funeral of Vivian Chaplain, who died defending her home on Friday.

You can also donate to a disaster appeal established by the Salvation Army, the Red Cross, or the RFS or your local RFS crew.
