Netball NSW and Rugby Australia have both released statements signalling their sports should cease all training and plans to play until May.
Netball NSW said:
"To assist with infection control and in the absence of a defined position on community sport from Government, it is the strong recommendation of Netball NSW that all community netball competitions in NSW should be suspended until Saturday 2nd May 2020. This, in our view, includes all activity: playing, training, grading, umpire training etc. - at all levels up to and including Metro League/ Regional League.
"However, we note that some of these activities may be subject to a risk analysis on a case by case basis.
"It is important to note that the season is not being cancelled.
"Netball NSW will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis. A formal update will be provided on Wednesday 15 April, 2020
"The reason for the guidance applying at the level of Metro League/Regional League and below is purely based on the volume of people congregating at any given time."
Rugby Australia have also ceased training and playing.
"Today [Monday], following a meeting of the National Development Panel, Rugby Australia along with the State and Territory Member Unions have unanimously agreed to postpone all Community Rugby until the first week of May, effective immediately.
"In arriving at this decision, Rugby Australia and the Member Unions have considered public health information and the advice of the Rugby Australia Chief Medical Officer, Dr Warren McDonald.
"It is acknowledged that there are a variety of Rugby competitions underway and Rugby Australia will work closely with Member Unions to minimize this disruption.
"The National Development Panel will meet weekly for the foreseeable future and will review this position and communicate any updates regularly."
Cricket Australia have said they expect "Premier and Community Cricket competitions cancel all cricket activity for the remainder of the 2019-20 season from 17 March 2020."
"Your local State or Territory Association is communicating directly with its clubs, associations, school competitions and indoor centres with more detailed advice."
This follows the announcement of the cancellation of many junior sporting carnivals around the region.
Other community sports are yet to announce their immediate plans.
