While the current restrictions meant we could not be there in Anzac Park for a solemn service to remember the sacrifice of Australians, we did find ways to do so remotely.
A campaign in the lead up to Anzac Day encouraged many to stand at their end of their driveway at the time a dawn service is normally held.

And then there were displays of pride.
Di Brown emailed the photographs above to the Examiner.
Her son had made crosses to display in her front garden.
"This year I felt I could do something special," Di explained.
Di's father was a POW in Japan during World War II.
"He lost a brother in Syria and another brother (was) lucky to come home," Di said.
