The first competitive gallery exhibition of the year received 93 entries overall for the multimedia competition.

With nearly 100 entries the exhibition was more than the coordinators of the event could have expected.

"We originally printed up 80 number labels for the entries, never expecting we would need them all, only for us to do an emergency print up of 20 more," president Jackie Hunter said.

There were a large variety of artworks across all mediums entered in the competition, including sculptures, photographs, drawings and more.

For those wishing to view the entries, the gallery will continue to exhibit the submitted artworks until August 14, from Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.

Voting is currently open for the people's choice award. All visitors to the exhibition can cast their vote on which artwork is their favourite, with the winner to be awarded $100.

"We were amazed to see how many entries the exhibition had, it was more than we expected," Ms Hunter said.

Thanks to generousness sponsorship from Mike Gilbert the exhibition awarded six prizes, with the upcoming people's choice award to be announced upon the closure of the exhibition.

Among the 93 entries highly commendeds was also awarded to four artwork (in no particular order)..

"We are very grateful that we are able to put on events to display the beautiful artworks submitted to our gallery," secretary Chris Boughen said.

Head of Publicity Helen Ellis said creating the theme All Creatures Great and Small provided the direction for the submissions.

"It is great to see the artists use the theme to create the amazing artworks we get to exhibit"

Ms Hunter concluded by thanking and congratulating everyone that entered the competition.

"Without all the incredible entries competitions like this could not happen," she said.
