Last week Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall announced the $900,00 grant for the road upgrade in the redevelopment of the Glen Innes Saleyard complex.
Mr Marshall joined Glen Innes Severn Mayor Carol Sparks to inspect the road which adjoins Lang Street and Bradleys Lane the entrance to the Saleyard's livestock loading area and truck wash.
"I am very encouraged by the announcement of this funding for the much needed upgrade of the Furracabad Road, with the project scheduled to start in February 2021 with a finish date of mid-April," Cr Sparks said.

"Work will be undertaken by council's construction team, utilising local contractors for the haulage of all road materials and some local plant being utilised from contractors as required."
Mr Marshall said the upgrades will help Glen Innes to become the premier sheep selling centre of Northern NSW.
"This major funding injection will act as a giant economic stimulus for the Glen Innes Shire and will complement the $1.25 million redevelopment of the sheep selling yards and $142,000 upgrade to the truck wash," he said.
"It's vital all roadways connected to the saleyards are safe and to a standard that can cope with an increase in heavy vehicle traffic.
"In order to achieve this goal the grant will be spent on fully rehabilitating of 2.5 kilometre of failed pavement on Furracabad Road, 411 metres of Lang Street and 200 metres of Bradleys Lane, and restore appropriate access to the Saleyards.
"This funding is really only the start of a greater State Government plan to improve our road network and I look forward to working council, not just on the delivery of this project, but looking ahead to the next round for more funding to upgrade even more roads."
Cr Sparks said the project would improve the operation of the Glen Innes Saleyards.
"The Glen Innes Saleyards plays a vital role in the marketing of local livestock and supporting agents and transport companies operating in the Glen Innes area," she said.
The funding is part of the State Governments new $500 million Fixing Local Roads program.
"Council thanks Adam and the State and Commonwealth Governments on their Fixing Local Roads program and look forward to further announcements in the next round."
