Social golf
Ten members played the back nine in weather, improved from last week.
This morning made me realise why the Social Club has lasted since the 1970s, then the RRR Social Club. Despite the scores being ordinary, only one under 40 and one having a nice 17 on the 15th there was only good humour.
The winner was Craig Hulls with a net 19.5, gross 39. Nice consistent golf Craig.
The 1st runner up was Col Fletcher, net 21, and 2nd runner up Mick McClelland 23.5 net.
The putting to Alan Collins having a great 14 putts.
Still no N.T.P's due to restrictions.
The T/bird and the Bradman's to Michael Johansen. Halve the 15th and he would probably have been the winner.
Lucky draws to Craig Hulls and second to, 3 in a row, John Stewart.
Next week play will be on the front nine.
If you would like to join us just turn up ready to go by 8.30am.
Ladies Golf
Wednesday, August 12 the ladies played the first round of their 4BBB Championships. It will be an interesting game when the second round is played, as Marlene Gallagher & Shirley Lockwood, together with Pru Newby and Shirley Bruce are equal leaders in both gross and nett, with 83 gross and 64 nett. Next in the nett was Wendy Holliss and Di Brown 64 and on 65 Lindy and Julie Newsome together with Avonne Dawkin and Elaine Wilson. The raffle went to Annette Berrell & the draw to Nancy Kiehne and Jan Hope.
Sunday was the Keno Mixed Ambrose. Once again thanks to Captain Nancy who managed to get a good field. Bobby and Marlene Gallagher took out the gross with 70 while Gary Cameron & Sue Rees won the nett with 63.5.
This Wednesday we will play the final round of our 4BBB Championships with the Annual General Meeting to take place after golf. Sunday it is a stableford event for a Club trophy.
As the Examiner is now only being published on Thursdays our results may be a bit later.
