NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian expects COVID-19 case numbers will continue to "yo-yo" over coming weeks, as three new people tested positive overnight.

With the three new cases diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, the total number of cases in NSW reaches 3,802.
There were 10,375 tests reported in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 20,720 in the previous 24 hours.
Of the three new cases, one was acquired overseas and is in hotel quarantine while two are close contacts of previous cases.
One case is a healthcare worker at Liverpool Hospital. They had been identified as a close contact of a previous case and were in self-isolation for their infectious period.
The other case is a student who attends Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta. They had been identified as a close contact of a previous case and were in self-isolation for their infectious period.
There are currently 84 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. There are seven COVID-19 patients in intensive care and four are ventilated. 88 per cent of cases being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said it was important to maintain a "testing blitz".
"We are so pleased so many people are coming forward to get tested. We need that to continue," she said.
"We will notice in the next few weeks at the very least a yo-yo effect.
"Some days we will have lower cases than others.
"We are certainly in a much better position today than some weeks ago and we want that situation to continue.
"The key to that is that people come forward to get tested."
