The Glen Innes High School dancers will be performing a range of dance styles including Bollywood, Contemporary, Lyrical, Musical Theatre/Broadway Jazz, JFH and Hip Hop, in stunning and colourful costumes to a wide variety of music.
The team ranges in age from students in years seven to 12, and from beginner to advanced level, with Alexandra Millar, Taylah Grob and Annaliese Gillett currently sitting their HSC exams.
Annaliese and Taylah have studied dance as a school subject and will perform their HSC dance compositions in the show.
This year's featured guest artist will be year 12 GIHS student and singer/songwriter, Kathryn Luxford.
She is one of only 12 musicians who graduated from the Talent Development Project, the most prestigious, industry-based music training program in the state, earlier this year with the release of new music.
Unfortunately, guest performers from other schools and dance studios have been prevented from attending this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Dance teacher Lindy Alt said the addition of Kathryn Luxford more than makes up for the lack of others able to attend the spectacular.
"She is an unstoppable young artist who is surely on her way to a huge career," she said.
The annual Dance Spectacular organisers are excited to provide the opportunity for young performers to showcase their talents for family, friends and members of the local community as a positive end to an otherwise difficult year which has seen many performing arts events missed.
"The community support for the students performing in this showcase of great local talent will be greatly appreciated," Ms Alt said.
The event will be run according to following COVID-19 safety protocols including cleaning and restricting the number of performances to one evening show per night to 'rest' the theatre.
Despite the restrictions the event coordinators ensure the entertainment value remains high as usual.
Tickets are currently available at Carelles.
Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for concessions. Tickets will not be not be available at the door due to COVID-19 restrictions.
For those who cannot secure a ticket a video of the performance will be available for purchase.
