"GlenFest is a celebration of music and art and the Pop-Up Art Exhibition was developed to engage business and community, to visit a shop you have never been in before, to meet new people and of course to highlight the amazing work that our local RSPCA branch do in regards to the care and support of our furry friends," said GlenFest organiser Derek Foley.
The winner of the Mayoral Prize is a photograph by Nicholas Murray which is on display inside The Local Cafe. The photographic work called Station Hand was a stand-out for Glen Innes mayor Carol Sparks.
"There were so many worthy entries, but I felt that the theme of Companion Animals really stood out in his photograph," said Mayor Sparks.
Mr Murray will receive his award when the other category winners are announced at the free RSPCA concert in the Glen Innes District Services Club on Friday night.
"Many of the participating businesses had fun with the displays turning their windows into art installations and it has been overwhelming to see just how many are supporting this project," said Glen Innes Severn Council tourism and events officer Rhonda Bombell.
"Glen Innes is really thriving and there is such a vibrant buzz around town with lots of new businesses, events and plenty of things for our locals and visitors to see and do."
The RSPCA Charity Concert on Friday, March 12 at the Glen Innes Services Club will bring upcoming and star entertainers to town with a performance of guitar, rock and disco by Kyogle's Lesa Godden and Rawnchi followed by Queensland's award-winning band Super Massive.
The Super Spectacular Show on Saturday, March 13 at the Glen Innes Bowling Club will finish the fortnight of entertainment with a bang. It will feature Lismore's Thor Phillips and to close the show will be Fiona O'Shea and the Passenger from Queensland.
Entry to all events is free, however bookings are essential due to current restrictions and limited places.
