Last-start grand finalists, the Magpies women put their foot down at the start of the match and didn't let up.
They posted 38 points to nil and coach Andrew Hodgson was "very impressed" particularly by the handful of debutants.
"Just the few debutants, they have come either not playing before or from a women's rugby background or come up from the minor league ranks," he said,
"We haven't had many training sessions together with a full squad so they gelled pretty well together in their first game."
While missing a few players from season's past, the core group which has taken them to the last three grand finals is still around.
"Majority of the experienced ones are still around so it is good for the younger ones to learn off," Hodgson said.
They'll head to Moree this Saturday to face a Boomerangs side who are coming off a loss to Inverell.
Hodgson isn't sure how their opponents will line up but is keeping his game plan pretty simple.
"I haven't got a clue what they will be like but we will just go with the same formula as I told the girls yesterday [Sunday] - 'just go out and enjoy yourself,'" he said.
