Warming comfort food and music kept the cold at bay until the 20-minute pyrotechnic display began.
P&C president Hugh Eastwood said he was delighted with the community's support on a chilly evening.
"For the middle of winter this was a wonderful success," he said.
The canteen pumped out hearty meals of homemade chicken vegetable soup, pumpkin soup, hot dogs with cheese, hot chips, spaghetti bolognese, churros and ice-cream.
Glen Innes High School performing art students, who have been starved of performing opportunities over the past 12 months, entertained the crowd. Performers included Cornelia Zomer, Brendan Mackenzie, Alyssa Dorwood, Chelsey Kemp, Chelsey - Rose Kerr, Mandy Crawford, Phoebe Millar and Jacob Zomer along with local stars Katie Haselwood, James Haselwood and Dylan McKean.
Children ran around playing games and chasing each other with the large foam glow sticks and waving glow stick bracelets while some sat in their cars with the heaters going.
The massive fireworks display was made more interesting with a 3D effect through special 3D glasses.
"We wish to thank the community for their support along with Glen Innes Minor and Senior League for their encouragement and use of the facilities," Mr Eastwood said.
"When everything else is being shut down due to COVID restrictions it was great to see kids out and about and the community support this outdoor event."
