Stores across NSW will be offering specials to part with older stock or celebrate the state's new 'freedoms'.
This includes the big players like KMart, JB Hi-Fi, Myer and Harvey Norman.
Pictures of $2 shirts in KMart and reports of bargains for kids swimwear in Best&Less have driven people out of their homes and into the shopping malls..
Businesses said there is plenty of excitement in the air, particularly across retail and dining sectors.
Stocklands general manager of retail Michelle Abbey said the company was thrilled to welcome shoppers back to its centres across NSW.
"We know that customers and retailers alike are sharing in our excitement," she said.
"Our centres have been buzzing since restrictions have been further eased in Greater Sydney, with certain services such as hair and beauty salons, and larger department stores such as Kmart and Target, experiencing a high number of customers eager to get inside after months of lockdown.
"We understand that businesses have entered a critical trade period heading into the holiday season and customers have been pleased to see such an exciting range of deals and offers available centre-wide.
"It's also been encouraging to see customers respecting COVID-Safe requirements, such as wearing a face mask and social distancing, as well as remaining patient with our retailers who are adhering to density limits in-store and ensuring that compliance check-ins are completed.
"We hope this continues throughout this weekend as our centres will no doubt be at their busiest yet."
Cronulla Chamber of Commerce president Mark Aprilovic said the atmosphere in the beachside Sydney region was buzzing.
"It's fantastic - people are back out and about, sitting in the cafes and restaurants and enjoying each other's company," he said.
"People are very excited. It's just going for broke. Everyone is embracing the new freedoms and supporting their local shops."
Mr Aprilovic urged shoppers to be safe and be kind to retailers as vaccine mandates were enforced.
"It's about the community, not the individual. We have to keep the whole community safe," he said.
"We live in a great place... we finally have a path through this so let's stay positive and look toward the future."
South west Sydney's Fairfield Chamber of Commerce president Vince Movizio said businesses in the region were looking forward to the weekend ahead.
"A lot of businesses were already struggling before this lockdown because of last year's lockdowns," he said.
"They had to open new lines of credit, some are in rental arrears and a lot of them were not eligible for the government support.
"An influx like this will give some of these businesses half a chance of recovering from this."
Fairfield was one of Sydney's infamous Local Areas of Concern throughout the Delta outbreak with strict stay-at-home orders enforced, including a strong police and military presence, as well as a curfew.
Mr Movizio said locals should throw their support behind their favourite shops.
"If you have a favourite shop or restaurant, spend your money there," he said.
"By shopping locally you are supporting your community.
"We know this is a really exciting time but you should also try to stay safe because COVID hasn't gone away."
