Jockey Matt McGuren guided Oakenfull's Amazingly to the Glen Innes Cup in a tight finish in front of Gavin Groth's Danspur and Paddy Cunningham's Our Girl Eve.
One week earlier he was hoisting up the Inverell Cup with Renegade.
Of that win, Oakenfull told NSW Country and Picnic Racing it was one of his favourite wins as a trainer.
"I've had about three or four runners in the cup over the years and the closest I've ever got was a fourth," Oakenfull told NSW Country and Picnic Racing.
"I'm a Moree born and bred fella, but I've been here 35 years and it is a race I wanted to win.
"It means a lot to finally win it and it's my favourite win for sure."
The Glen Innes Cup win made his January even more memorable.
It was Amazingly's third win for the trainer, and fifth career win, after previously being at John Smerdon's Gold Coast stable.
He transferred to Oakenfull and had his first start for him at Moree in May last year to win over 1300m
Australian Community Media contacted Oakenfull for a comment on the Glen Innes Cup win but had not received a response at the time of printing.
It was a good day for North West locals who dominated the results, including Glen's Paddy Cunningham.
To start the day, Paddy Cunningham's Salt and Pepper claimed his maiden in his second start for the stable after finished as runner-up in Inverell on Boxing Day.
Jodi Worley rode the gelding to victory by nearly four lengths in front of Peter Sinclair's Character Witness.
It was a fitting win for the three-year-old on his home track with breeder and owner John Lockwood on hand with co-owners Rob Banham and Jennie Coldham to see the triumph.
Tamworth's Cody Morgan snagged a brace with Tintern Power in the 1400m Maiden Handicap and C'mon and Love Me in the 1200m Benchmark 58.
Cunnigham's Port Office was second behind Tintern Power.
Will Freedman won the 1400m Class 2 Plate with Celestial Doll in front of the Stafford Wain-trained Timely Bel.
Inverell's Nathaniel Scott rounded out the winners for the day with All Stand finishing in front of Kevin Dixon's Indian Thunder in the 1000m Benchmark 66.
