Ross competed against more than 60 junior lawn bowlers at the tournament, many older and more experienced than her.
The event is held annually and players participate in single, pairs and triples games over the duration of the tournament.
Drakes Pride Spokesman Ben Glasson said the main aim of the tournament is to get young bowlers involved in the sport.
“The gear that is given as a prize is really to just help the young bowler on their way,” he said.
“We do keep an eye on junior bowlers over the course of the weekend and we like to give young bowlers a start with some high quality gear.
“Hayley played well and deserved her prize.”
Mum Kylie Ross said Haylee and her discussed entering the tournament to gauge her progress as a bowler.
“She wanted to put her name down to enter because she wanted to have a go against the best competition that there is for her to bowl against,” she said.
“She bowled really well in singles, triples and pairs it was just a really consistent effort.
“The more games you win the more points you get in this tournament and that is why Haylee came out on top, good consistent bowling over three days.”
Hayley said she did discuss tactics with her mum but had no expectations of winning.
“I just wanted to have a go against older kids and to see if I could match it with them talent wise,” she said.
“I was surprised at how well I did, and I was very surprised when my name was called as the winner, it was a bit overwhelming.
“The win still hasn’t sunk in.”
Miss Ross said her next goal is to bowl well at the Combined High School event that is coming up soon.
