At Falls Creek and Mount Hotham in Victoria there's been up to 30cm of snow with deep drifts due to strong winds and is still snowing. Hotham Alpine Resort will only reach a high of -5°C today.

A Bureau of Meterology spokesman said the conditions would improve as the day went on, but there could be fresh falls later in the week.
