Glen Innes Severn Council issued a media release earlier today announcing level one restrictions are now in place in Deepwater.
Level one restrictions prohibit the use of garden sprinklers outside the the hours of 6pm and 8pm.
The restrictions were explained as being "due to ongoing drought conditions".
Glen Innes has escaped water restrictions due to the additional reserve supply available in the Eerindii Ponds, but council still advises residents minimise water consumption to avoid excessive water consumption bills.
Council advises that if the Eerindii Ponds storage was not in place, level five restrictions would have been implemented at this stage, with the Beardy Weir now more than 600mm below top water level.
Tenterfield shire residents are currently subject to level four restrictions.
