Glen Innes police are investigating the reported theft of a children's motorbike briefly stolen on Saturday.
Witnesses saw a person riding the motorbike away from a Herbert street house at around 11.30 on September 14, police say.
Police say they found the small petrol motorbike dumped a short distance from the house.
The bike will be examined by forensic police in the hope of identifying the culprit.
Dundee car accident
Police are reminding drivers to take care while driving on highways that adjoin stock routes after a four wheel drive ran into a trio of cows.
Police were called after a Nissan Navara hit the three cattle while driving north on the New England highway at 8.05am on Friday.
Nobody was injured in the accident except the cows.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police have appealed to motorists to take care on stock routes in the prevailing drought conditions.
Parts of the New England highway are stock routes.
