Bruce and Janelle Favell, who already run Potter firearms, opened the fudge and gelato store last weekend to mega crowds.
"The support from the town was amazing; a cold miserable Saturday in GI where people lined up out the door. It was terrific," said Bruce.
The couple laughed that it was the first business where every single punter leaves with a smile on their face - nobody can be unhappy eating ice cream, Bruce joked.
"It was a bit of a dream from both of us.
"Many years ago (we thought) wouldn't it be really good to run an ice cream shop and it sort of went quiet for a while, we didn't really do much.
"But when we went looking to move, the opportunity to have two businesses in a premises was terrific."
Will the combination of fudge and firearms, guns and gelato prove a success? The couple say they're not planning to rush the business, but they have even bigger plans.
If the town proves to be keen on ice cream through its cold winter months, they could start producing their own.
Bruce said the first step would be fresh fudge production - the gear is cheaper. Down the track they could look to setting up more expensive local gelato production.
