Australian medal chance Esther Qin threatened to snatch a medal before China continued its dominance of the women's Olympic 3m springboard in Tokyo.

Defending Olympic champion Shi Tingmao (383.50 points) was a class above, scoring a finals-best 78 points on her fifth and final dive to secure the gold ahead of compatriot Wang Han (348.75).
The pair, who had won the 3m synchronised event earlier in the meet, dominated as American Krysta Palmer (343.75) pinched bronze.
Sixth at Rio's 2016 Games, Qin (261.95) threatened too and sat third after nailing her first dive.
But, like she did in the semi-final, a poor entry on her second effort earned her just 29.45 points as she slumped to 12th.
