The Glen Innes team made the grand final but were narrowly beaten by Calrossy 18 - 13.
The competition included private and Public School and towns from across the region were well represented.
The Glen Innes team consisted of nine girls, Jess Trow, Liz Chard, Emily Burton, Ruby Beatty, Summa Carpenter, Laura Winter, Sophie Sharman, Jess de Jong, and Sarah Woolfe.
There were seven teams in the 7/8 division with Glen Innes placed in a finals pool against McCarthy College and Narrabri High School.
Glen Innes defeated McCarthy College in the first round 16 - 11, where the defence from both teams was a highlight.
Glen Innes then defeated Narrabri High School 21 -5, playing the best match of their day.
In the semi-finals Glen Innes had a strong performance and won 19 - 6, keeping O’Connor Catholic College scoreless in the second half.
This saw Glen Innes make the grand final against Calrossy; it was a close and physical match for the entire 30 minutes.
Both teams were evenly matched and passionate to win, however due to fatigue and a lack of consistency Calrossy were able to maintain a slight advantage throughout the match.
Calrossy now progress to the state finals against the winners of the other NSW regions.
Sports Coordinator Kirstie Fuller congratulated all the girls on their outstanding efforts and great sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
“Also thanks to senior student Alex Miller for volunteering her time to umpire and our supportive parents for assisting with transport and cheering on the day,” she said.
“We are all very proud of the efforts of this team and are thrilled to be highly competitive with all schools from around the region, as well as see so much potential in our netballers for the future.”
