THE GLEN Innes Severn Council Australia day Committee is calling for nomination for this year’s awards that recognise volunteer achievements in our local area.

Nominations close on Friday December 11 and no late entries will be accepted.
Committee Chairperson Jan Lemon said the awards are chance to honour those in the community who selflessly give their time for the betterment of the community.
“There are hundreds of locals who never get recognised but they are amazing and do such good work,” she said.
“If you know someone whose voluntary achievements through individual dedication have made a difference to our community, or any groups that have made outstanding contributions to our community, then nominate them.
“Community events also can be nominated and all residents and organisations in the local government area are eligible.”
Nomination forms are available at the Glen Innes Severn Council office, Woolworths, the library and post offices at Deepwater, Emmaville and Glencoe.
The awards are; Citizen of the year, Community Event of the year, Voluntary community organisation of the year, emergency service volunteer of the year and young citizen of the year.
The young citizen of the year must be 26 years of age or under at January 26 in 2016.
