Coach Jason Reed was happy with his team’s focus and that they weren’t distracted by North being short two players.
“We had an easy win on Saturday with North’s only fielding nine players but rather than take our foot off the pedal and go easy we were professional and played the game at a normal intensity,” he said.
“It could have been a walk in the park, so I was happy with our effort.
“Tony Huskinson in the backs was player’s player with Dylan Ferris kicking three goals, Harley Parker three goals and Daniel Ferris scoring two goals and they all played well up front.
“It was good to see that we were able to get into good scoring positions and finish off the work of teammates with goals.”
The second division team lost five to two largely due to mistakes being made across the pitch.
Coach Rob Ferris said he was disappointed that the Highlanders could not go on to win after leading the game early.
“We led the game one nil and were looking good early in the game, but then we made mistakes which allowed them to score,” he said.
“We had a few key players pushed up to first division to cover players that were unavailable on Saturday but it was no excuse for the loss as we were supported by some good third division players backing up.
“We need to keep our composure and structure a little bit better and we will win games.
“The second division Players player was Tom Mitchell.”
Ferris said the third division had to forfeit due to injury and a lack of discipline of some players not turning up to games and letting all three teams down.
All three teams play away at Armidale this weekend with the first and seconds playing Armidale City Westside and the thirds playing South Armidale.
