School sports coordinator Kirstie Fuller has been working with the student representative council (SRC) and the PASS sport science classes to facilitate the event.
“Students and staff will be asked to wear pink on the day and pay $2 for being out of uniform,” she said.
“We must raise $500 minimum, as that is what we have pledged, but it would be nice to raise more than that for the McGrath Foundation for Breast Cancer.
“At this stage, we are looking at running a couple of cricket clinics in the morning with our junior school so it should be a fun-filled day.”
Miss Fuller said there will be a special cricket match played on the day.
“At lunch time we will have a students verse community parents and teachers game, so that should be very competitive,” she said.
“Our SRC will be selling cake and slice and they will all be pink and we are raising funds the day before and the day after the event.
“Prizes are on offer for best dressed, best parent student combo, best cricketer each year group, and then a prize for sharing the Facebook posts our school puts up.”
Miss Fuller also has a personal reason for supporting the McGrath Foundation.
“Breast cancer is something that has occurred in my family with my Grandmother having experienced it,” she said.
“I know cricket is popular in the school, so this day will be a great way of offering something different, collect some cool pink stuff and raise some money.
“We’d like to link the community in as much as possible so hopefully the positive culture the school has established within the community will see the whole town get behind the day.”
