Greg Law, Bob Gallagher and John Conyard have managed to hit hole-in-ones at Glen Innes Golf Club this year.
For Law, it was the first time he has achieved the feat in nearly half a century of playing golf.
He said he managed it on the seventh hole on the local course.
“After fifty years of trying, it finally went in,” he said.
“There must have been some luck involved.”
Gallagher has hit a hole-in-one on multiple occasions in the past and earned this year’s on the fourth with the ball pitching beyond the hole and spinning back into it.
Conyard also nailed his one the fourth in the same fashion.
Glen Innes golf club’s general manager Pat Lonergan said it was a rare achievement and the local McDonald’s came on board to sponsor any golfer who accomplished it on the local course.
“Without that they wouldn't get anything other than having the recognitition for getting a hole in one,” he said.
“To get that financial bonus is a good thing.”
“They were all very excited.”
