Captain-coach Nick Say is under no illusion the game against the Tigers on Tingha turf will be a walk in the park.
“It is always tough to go out there to Tingha to play,” he said.
“I think we just keep continuing on what we did in our last game.
“It is always very physical and a bit of fun.”
In their last outing against Inverell, the Magpies soared to a 34-6 lead in the opening 40 minutes before second-half errors and ill-discipline saw the Hawks close the gap to 40-18.
Say hopes his team can remain focused on their own game.
“If we just stay out of it, clean our discipline up and try and let our footy do the talking - that is the main thing,” he said.
“Just like most of the games, you just have to start off well.
“You don't want to be chasing points.
“You just have to start well for the first 10-15 minutes and get in the grind a bit and after that we can start playing a bit of football.”
Say is expecting the squad to be close to full-strength.
“I think we get a few back but we also lose Schiffo [Sam Schiffmann], he is having a week off - he had a bit of a lip job.
“We have a bit of depth there now so we can fill that front row spot pretty easy which is good.
“It is always good having a bit of depth but a few injuries unsettles it a bit but hopefully we can work on it this week.”
In the under 18’s game, it will be a top-of-the-table clash with the first-placed Magpies going head-to-head with the second-placed Tigers.
Glen Innes took a 28-10 win against the Hawks two weeks ago and coach Gavin Peterson said they want to continue to build on their recent success.
“Last time, our attack was really good but the pleasing thing was our commitment in defence so we are just looking at building on our last game and continuing with the same things to go forward,” he said.
“I think this is the last game of the full round, they are the last team so it would be good to finish the round with a win and be at the top of the table or equal top.
“We will certainly be looking at coming away with a win in that one and let all the other teams know that we are contenders.”
The Group 19 league tag competition has proved to be one of the closest in recent history.
The Glen Innes side sit in third on the table and will be aiming to topple sixth-placed Tingha who are coming off a 14-8 loss against the Boomerangs.
The Magpies beat Inverell 8-4 two weeks ago after leading 8-nil for most of the game.
