They managed a grand final finish, only going down to the Moree Boomerangs by eight points in the big dance.
Nick Say has taken on the coaching role again and will be joined at the helm by rake Guy Mepham.
Mepham joined the Magpies last season and made a huge impact.
Say is happy to have Mepham alongside side him in the coaching ranks.
"It is good to get him over again, he is keen, that is exciting," he said.
"He is all quality, a good fella to have around the club.
"He is very football smart and it helps us out."
Mepham and Say are already facing a battle in trying to players committed before the season starts on April 6.
"It has been a bit up and down, always is this time of year but hopefully people come out of the woodwork when it starts coming around a bit," Say said.
"Hopefully we can get in their ear a bit and get them keen because it will be disappointing, especially after last year, we want to keep that momentum going into this year and years to come.
"We don't want to be having one good year and then one bad year.
"It is just that time of year where it is hard to get people committed but hopefully they come around to it a bit when touch football is over."
The Magpies train every Monday and Wednesday at 6pm at Mead Park and encourage anyone interested in playing to come along.
