At Zone Championships held at Tamworth last November, Connor Knox (Under 7) won two gold and two silver medals. Zone Championships are the highest level of competition for Under 7’s .
Angus Feltham (Under 9), Liam Knox (Under 10), Jordan Knox (Under 12), Lucas Tait (Under 14), James Tait (Under 17) and Georgie Webster (Under 17) all qualified to compete at Regional Championships in multiple events.
Region 1 Championships were held at the Hunter Sports Centre, Glendale, on February 2 and 3. Five Glen Innes athletes have qualified to compete at State Track and Field Championships at Homebush on March 16 and 17.
Georgie Webster, who set a new Regional record at Glendale, will compete in Under 17 girts Shot Put.
James Tait, who gained one gold and two silver medals at region, will compete in Under 17 boys Triple Jump, Discus and Long Jump.
Lucas Tait won a gold, a silver and a bronze at Region will compete in Under 14 boys Discus and Shot Put.
Liam Knox won a silver medal at Glendale and will compete in Under 10 boys 60 metre hurdles.
Angus Feltham won silver and bronze and will compete in Under 9 boys 400 metres.
