Police have identified a body discovered in a Glen Innes creek yesterday as a 44-year-old local man.
Emergency services arrived at the scene around 3.45pm yesterday, after the gruesome discovery of a body in Rocky Point creek was reported to police.
Offices from the New England police district established a crime scene near Quota park, across from the Norco Rural Store.

An initial police inquiry suggests the death is not suspicious.
A port mortem will be conducted and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Investigations continued well into Wednesday night with forensic police and detectives scouring the creek and its banks. SES volunteers also aided the investigation.

A POLICE investigation is under way after a man's body was found in a Glen Innes creek.
Investigators were alerted after the gruesome discovery on Wednesday afternoon, in Rocky Ponds Creek in the centre of town.
Glen Innes police were on scene and immediately set up a crime scene, cordoning off the area, shortly before 4pm.
Investigations continued well into the night with forensic police and detectives scouring the creek and its banks.
The body has not been identified.
Along with local police, volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) were also at the scene, as the search for clues continued.
An investigation is under way and police are calling for public help from anyone with information on the man.
A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
